Indeed, the phone was originally an UK localized version. But the complete reflash should have removed all traces of the previous OS.

Anyway, I tried, for the sake of sience ...

#apt-get install --reinstall mp-fremantle-002-pr
result :
E: Could not find package mp-fremantle-002-pr

Not surprising as according to dpkg and apt-cache it hasn't been on the system in the first place.

Anymore suggestions ?

002 is the US variant anyway, so that certainly won't help. What's the result from running "apt-cache search mp-fremantle*"?

Sorry - I missed the last reply. You should be reinstalling the generic one then, but you say that's not working. Can you post the output (from X Terminal) of:
cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/hildon-application-manager.list

The Nokia repositories look fine - are they updating without any errors?

If so, can you run the following to check whether the package is in the repo, and what version it is:
Code:
grep -A5 -h "Package: mp-fremantle" /var/lib/apt/lists/*_Packages

all was/is updating without errors.

when I run the command I get no answer. So it's not found in the repos.

This confirms the "not found" error when doing the apt-get reinstall ...

But where the hell have these packages gone.

UPDATE : I fixed it by disabling the Nokia system repos and re-enabling them, thereby refreshing the cache. It seems the cache for one or both of them was a bit in a knot.

Also wireless-tools installed fine now.

Thanks for all help.

And now it's my turn to bump this thread...

Need wireless-tools and python-location and I got the extras-devel but can't find it in there! Have disabled all reps and recache them with no luck! Any solution for this?

Hi, I have the same problem. I was able to fix it.

xterm -> vi /etc/resolv.conf

replace nameserver 127.0.0.1 with nameserver 8.8.8.8

wireless-tools was missing because I can't update nokia repository (dns problem).
