This is a straight port of the fantastic minitube desktop youtube client. Its notable feature is the endless playlist with autostart.

http://flavio.tordini.org/minitube

By port I mean just packaged for Maemo5. Thanks to the authors use of QT and no dependencies outside of Maemo5 I was astonished to have a working package in 20 minutes.

Almost everything works but further work is needed to optimize interface for mobile. Output goes through gstreamer so should be
accelerated but I don't know how to verify this.

TODO:

-Add dependencies on deb file and put on garage.
-Text entry is stuck in CAPS
-Program icon doesn't show up after optifying.
-UI needs to be re-organized for mobile sized screens.
--- Font sizes are wrong
--- Excessive space wasted on controls and menubar.
--- Going to experiment with dynamically loaded CSS tweaks.
--- DnD on playlist does not mesh well with flick movements.

Release 1.1-maemo2:

* Start minitube with stylesheet
* Add Gnome icons
* Disable QT Menubar
* Temporarily disable Statusbar
* Run fullscreen without Maemo status bar.
* Add Maemo5 orientation support. Video still misplaced.
* Increase startDragTime to 1000 ms. DnD and flick still don't mesh.
* Temporarily disable DND
* Change 'Escape' key actions to 'Q'

great, looking forward to it, since MyTube doesn't work that great on n900 and Digia is very ugly!

fantastic, this could easily be the best youtube client for the n900, playback is supurb and the app is quick, like you said, all that really needs sorting is the ui. will be eagerly awaiting an update

It's a much better experience than the other youtube apps available. Thanks for the port... And Flavio Tordini is a very nice person, btw
Now another thing to do is bind the "back to windowed state from full screen" to a key combo different from alt-enter or esc.

This appears to be the same bug that happens with Mediaplayer where the DSP backend just stops working. Looks like minitube triggers it quite often particularly if you are overclocked. Reboot is the only way I know to fix it.
