Happen again last night. Tablet not responsive, black screen. Wouldn't turn on until I plugged it in. Then it booted and showed 73% battery.

This just happened to my Jolla Tablet - it was at 54% battery charge when I unlocked it and went away for about 1 hour to find my Tablet turned off after that hour.
I was able to normaly turn it on with the power key, not sure if plugging in the charger would also turn it on.

Edit:

The bootlog is missing the shutdown:

Code:
[nemo@Jolla ~]$ vi /var/log/systemboot.log

20160302_005749 Received: dsme internal state USER
20160305_113717 Startup: androidboot.mode=main

20160305_113717 Received: dsme internal state USER
I enabled the persistent storage for journalctl now and will check it if it happens again.

The best kind of bug. The self healing sort.

So, do all patches work normally with the Tablet or is there anything special to be cautious about?

Weren't there some base and advanced patches installed during first installation with JPhone? Noticed that they didn't install with the tablet. Do I still have to install them manually?

you need to install any patches manually as usual. there is even unofficial build of warehouse on openrepos.
