and wait for the magic :P

and i have pr1.3 global
Do you know your full version details ?

I am ready to flash no probs, but I fear the battery will not last the duration. I did manage to get some charge into battery by holding it on my N95, but did not want to leave it in there too long,

I have to admit to be being very impatient, especially as delivery will be Wed at the latestest (longer Scottish festivities). I have been so close to starting a flash ......... <deep breath>

the phone wont go into the flashing mode if the battery isnt charged! so, the method which i gave you should work. if it doesnt then the battery will need chaarging

Update: I was too impatient to wait delivery of new battery & charger. So, with the aid of rubber-bands I charged my N900 battery in my N95 phone. It still failed to boot, but it did connect in recovery/flash mode and with "flasher-3.5' I re-flashed with the UK PR1.3 image found by 'navifirm':

RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2.203.1_PR_COMBINED_203_ARM.bin

....and I now have my phone back I've just restored from a backup and it is now happily installing/updating all the apps.

Thanks for all the advice.

The work around i use for this is to flash with UK PR1.2 firmware

once the N900 is up and working then use OVI suite to flash with UK PR1.3 firmware

Ive seen it mentioned about possible issues with downgrading the firmware, but ive come across no issues and ive used this method 3 times.

Ive been wondering where the image for UK PR1.3 goes when its downloading via OVI suite. Surely it must go into a temporary file before the flash. Perhaps there is a way of saving the image?
