I can't open any financial times website on the domain http://m.ft.com - I just get the error "Couldn't open page.." with no other information.

I can open them fine on my N900 in any browser. And I can open other Financial Times websites on other domains ok, for example http://m.ftd.de (in German) and http://www.financialtimes.net (subscription services). But I can't get the news site in English.

I've tried cleaning the browser cache (~/.grob/cache/) but to no avail.

What else can I try? Is this an issue for other N9 users running PR1.1?

I know I could try Opera and Fennec (which I have yet to install) but that isn't really a solution for me - I want the Financial Times on the mobile site and I want to be able to have a web app icon on my home screen.

Well it does work in Opera. Very odd that it doesn't work on the regular browser, not even the regular site.

It really is odd. My wife's N9 is still on PR1.0, and m.ft.com opens on her phone fine. So it seems to be PR1.1-specific.

Can a few more people confirm that the Financial Times website (in English) does not open on their PR1.1 N9s in the standard browser? Then I will file a bug with Nokia.

You are not the only one with issues with the built in browser: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=79796
