They both do the same thing....
GeePS2 has a QML ui while GeePS uses the N900 native widgets...
GeePS2 has a few more bells...

The UI and the source code are completely different but because the features are not so different I decided to ask...

My maemo work:

GeePS - native UI around google maps - GApp - access to optimized mobile "google apps".
Shutdown - shutdown and reboot with one click - QuickCall - one click call, skypeout and google voice integration using dial tones.

For Maemo/N900:

Macuco2 : web browser to access web sites optimized for the iphone - WakeOnLan: wake up computers on your local network
dbBrowser: Simple application to browse sqlite databases

No need... GeePS does the same.
Rather, focus on doing something new and exciting

not sure about this app but i do know the n900 needs a proper mapping software...
does this app do voice navigation?

I have voted yes, not because I need the application but because porting QML applications from Harmattan is really needed to help improving the compatibility between both platforms.

In the process of porting you might find issues with QtComponents for Fremantle and your reports would help improving the libraries.

However, I would suggest you to focus on CSSU compatibility, without worrying too much trying to keep compatibility with PR1.3. That would ease your work and would promote use of CSSU. We are pending on Pali to upload to Extras the package CSSU Installer, once done it could be used as a dependency to ensure that the user has installed it.
