The README isn't good enough for you? Literally all you have to do is extract the tar in MyDocs and use the wlan driver selector applet to load the drivers.

Can we expect that this version, like the previous one, also drains too much power to be feasible as a full time replacement to the stock drivers?
Absolutely. It seems even worse than V1 in this regard. I left my wifi connection up and running with these new drivers for kp50 last night to test, and my battery went from about 80% to zero in three hours. Zap! On the stock drivers, I will have a pretty much horizontal line in Batterygraph during idle time.

Edit: For reference: I never revisited this, but there is a distinct difference between the new and the old driver: The old driver would drain the battery according to my attached graph regardless of whether I had a wlan connection active or not. The new driver will only drain the battery in this way when an active connection is present, but if I disconnect it I will only see normal drain.

Note that if you do not use patched osso-wlan your battery will be drained very quicky. Patched osso-wlan package is now part of CSSU, so for using packet injection drivers, update system to last CSSU.

I am running the latest CSSU Testing, version 21.2011.38-1Tmaemo2.1, and my osso-wlan package is version 3.0.20.1+0cssu1. Are you saying I shouldn't be experiencing this kind of battery drain?

Mohammed: Why are you refusing to read the README? It still applies, albeit with different file names. You don't need the source, you just need to extract the driver (6 *.ko files) to MyDocs. That's IT. And instead of handling loading and unloading through xterm as per the readme, you can install the wlan driver selector applet.
