Hi,

I would like to run Emacs on the Nokia N9. The main reason for using Emacs is the fantastic org-mode.
Are there already existing packages? How do I install them?

thx Rainer

I got in contact with Travis who provided me a link to his "Emacs repository":

https://github.com/travisgoodspeed/m...gsrc/downloads

From there I downloaded
https://github.com/downloads/travisg....0.2_armel.deb

to my PC and transferred it to my N9.

I have installed it as root and most things seem to work. I could not open a directory however (C-x d). Opening and saving files worked. I can now edit org files, which is most important for me.

One more update.

It seems that floating-point calculations are broken, too.
I am not sure if it is related to that but there is a strange error showing a long floiting-point number when I try to add a file to the agenda file list. The file is actually added it seems.

Perphaps somebody could take a look at those issues.

Great that you have created an Emacs package. However, I have problems installing it. I have downloaded the deb file and tried to installed it via clicking on it - I get back the message that it is not a valid installation package.

I have also added your repository via Warehouse client and tried to install it. Here I got the error message: Package 'emacs' is not user package.

As third way I have tried to install it via the terminal as devel-su with apt-get install. However, I have also got only error messages.

Any hint on how to install it successfully?

I still miss doing correct control in the deb file, for the 'click and install' to work
You can install like this from terminal

Code:
$ devel-su (rootme)
# wget https://openrepos.net/sites/default/files/packages/500/emacs_24.3_armel.deb --no-check-certificate
# dpkg -i emacs_24.3_armel.deb
reminder, start it with emacs -nw (it has GTK support, but no virtual keyboard in GTK)

I have tried the steps but unfortunately I got the following error message:
aegis-NOT-installing emacs (from '')

Additionally it is stated before that setting access rights for
/usr/local/share/applications
is not permitted.

I have a Nokia N9 PR1.3.

Any idea what is going wrong?
