This only happens for me if it can't focus and in low light the device needs to be close to objects to do so.
I think you should rather report this as a (new) bug since an increased led timing would probably allow the camera to focus properly, https://bugs.maemo.org/
or vote here: https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8168

that's because of the low light?! ^^

and in low light
that's the reason (because in bright light the leds aren't running ^^)

the device needs to be close to objects to do so
nope.
i'll always have this issue in dark conditions.

I also have the blue haze problem. Complaints with Nokia had no result. If you send this letter, I'd suggest perhaps a longer time for collecting names of people with the same problem.

You can refer to christexaport's thread here for more info on the issue. http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=36675

I feel like this piece of hardware is too expensive for us to have to "accept" a problem like this one. And that Nokia should do something to make up for the issue, i.e. offer consumers a replacement backing, or correct the issue and let us return our units for a corrected one.

List of blogs I will passing the results of this poll too, as well as any communication between "us" and Nokia.

Please send me any suggestions or corrections. I will be sending this out tomorrow afternoon.
If you would like to help out, please post a sample photo, and I will include your name and a link to the post with your photo. I'll be uploading mine tomorrow. I'm going to send the letter out, once we have a good number of contributors!

Well it doesn't happen in low light as long as you're close enough to the "object" so for a led "flash" imho it's decent...

As for your "report" I think you're exaggerating, create a bug report, wait in line like anyone else and it will be fixed. Patience is the solution.

There'd be a report as long as a whole review if I'd start writing essays on the bugs that disturb me.

this really looks like a hardware issue, i don't think it can be fully fixed in software, so i don't agree it's a bug.
The letter is a bit long, but then again Bec, so is your signature

Did anyone already try painting the bezel? I mean really painting, not just with a marker.

I'll shorten it up. Thanks for the input.

Even so, the only way to fix it will be via post processing that will only come after a bug report.

I think it might be caused by light reflecting from the blue edges of the lens cover....

Sig gone

EDIT:

Ok, taking a look at the first post on Chris's thread blinded me
I have to admit it's far worse for you guys than I imagined.

Below you have my situation:
