actually, the main disavantage of n900 is the lack of a proper gps software, and maybe the hd thing.
i have no ideea what n8 can do, but this is what i miss on n900.
also, the time that u have to set n900 to your needs could be a problem, due to the fact that is not an "out of the box" device.

N8: Photos, Games, as a Phone, and GPS.

N900: Pretty much everything else, hack hack hack go far and beyond the limits of a normal phone, learn that if we dont get support we can still win contets and push our phone to keep fighting for the best phone ever.

I would say instead that it's just like asking if you prefer girls to women.........

In my opinion there is an easy way to make a choice:

Use one N900 for 20 minutes.

....after this time, please try to use any other phone... if you can!

If you discover to need something different...
....Well i think you need a nokia 3310.

i don't think 20minutes is enough to see the N900's strengths. it's not the most user friendly phone Nokia made. and as ioncelmare put's it, it's not not an "out-of-the-box" device.

Yes, you are right, but i think it's enough to understand that if compared to a symbian phone it seem to come from another planet!

Anyway, i fully agree with you: It's not an out-of-the-box device.
