as the title say how could i fix this

I have a netbook with ubuntu and a laptop with windows. The ubuntu netbook would just not connect to the N9 hotspot, while the windows laptop did it effortlessly. The issue lies in the side of the other device rather than in the N9, I believe.

So... I think you should be asking in the Samsung phone forums :-D

Edit: connection was deteced (foud) by both, but only the one with windows would connect

The Samsung smartphone probably doesn't support ad hoc, there's nothing you can do about it.

The ubuntu system probably is suffering of a kernel regression, the wifi module iwl_legacy will make your computer able to see the ad hoc wifi network but won't let you connect to it.
