EDIT THIS REPLY IS POSTED IN THE FIRST POST
OH and you may also try hardware accelerator wich will make hildon-desktop smoother
BUT it is known to be unstable so if it caused any hildon-dekstop crashs or reboots simply disable it
To enable it :
use any text editor to edit /etc/powervr.d/hildon-desktop.ini and change WSEGL_UseHWSync=0 to WSEGL_UseHWSync=1
so :
leafpad /etc/powervr.d/hildon-desktop.ini
and change
WSEGL_UseHWSync=0
WSEGL_UseHWSync=1
beleive me hildon will be much smoother but as i said before if any reboots occured then disable it by changing WSEGL_UseHWSync=1
to
WSEGL_UseHWSync=0
and you may also want swappolube and it's proposed values
and if you want even more speed try to overcloak to 805 MHz and enable smart redlex to have a 2x battery time usage

My /etc/rc.local remains empty too even when executing cgroup_patch once more (as root with bash).

it is 1 of 3 ways to apply it
just as long as you see a cgroup folder in /dev
means /dev/cgroup
then the patch is applied
BTW i have mentioned this before

fine thanks... strange thing though as I wanted to check for improvements, I first started MediaBox to start playing a song. Then I fired up the browser and while loading the first website my phone rebooted. Hope it has nothing to with the patch... will check again.

just when i started the browsing (google.com) phone rebooted
but i was overcloaking n900 at 1000ghz
while untaring an archive
so in my case a reboot was expected =)

echo "blacklist bq27x00_battery" >> /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist
then reboot
well reason this will disable the bq27x00_battery module wich is depreciated
and kernel power v47 is the one i'm using now also has the driver injection
