I have a problem with my N900.
When I connect to any wifi router, the wireless of N900 stops working after 5 minutes without being disconnected. (it shows still connected but there is no network traffic)
I rebooted my phone, my router etc. I have even tried that with public routers without success.

What can I do?

that doesn't seem to help. it just shows the n900 is connected to the network at 54mbps, signal is around 90%

Try connecting to a few more routers, then you can establish whether it's the router or the phone.

in that case either try to reflash or call up nokia and send in for repair.

Do you have anything installed from extras-testing or extras-devel?

I have not installed anything lately. I had some apps from those repositories for more than a month. the problem occurred 2 days ago.
