i dream of the day than my n900 will have an stand alone app. that can launch from the desktop and display tasks with descriptions. the n900 will then be a foundation for the next steps.

and a network sync for outlook - for those who don't use exchange.

Voice activation and control would be nice.
Like turn off device, up down, next song, call so and so. You get the idea. Would this work?

If we have root access to the mic surely it should work within an Android port at least...

printThis...
Send any office document to almost any modern printer, whether by bluetooth/wifi/usb, keeping the formatting as well as sending any images... The easier to use, the better.

Like GameboyRMH said it has been here awhile.
Too avoid a bit of frustration, check this thread out. It will prevent you from looking at a blank screen

I'm stuck with either using the stock file manager which is pretty basic or pcmanfm which can't access the whole filesystem and doesn't work well on a small screen with a stylus.

Apart from that I can't ask for much more from the software. I could definitely use more processing power, I'm considering overclocking.
I would like to see this also.
I am disappointed with the stock file manager. I like my N800 and N810 file managers as they would list the internal and external memory(within the user limits), browse Windows shares, browse any bluetooth device it had been paired with and browse my Mythtv upnp media server.

EDIT: When I opened the file manager today "Shared media" appeared in the list. Never saw that before. I closed FM and reopened it and it was gone again...hmmm. On my N8x0s it just shows up. Searching for the problem now that I know it should work

Of course there are work arounds just not as convenient.
Almost all the other tools I need are there.
Oops! Printing. CUPS or at least lpr. CUPS works fairly well on the N8x0s also.
Just monitoring this thread to see if there is something I didn't know I needed
Take care.

A fully parametric equalizer, or a FIR filter to the audio output. That way I could use the n900 in my car and equalize the audio band to my liking.
