There you have it, just to ease things a little bit when building .debs. The UI is pretty straight-forward, locate the folder, then build and fetch it. The final product is placed in ./MyDocs.

Install Build_Me.deb, then do an:
Code:
apt-get -f install
apt-get install python2.5-qt4
apt-get install zenity
Hope you find it useful!

I am actually currently browsing the WIKI about uploading to Extrax-devel
Seems cool however, Devil Me! uploads packages to Extras-devel, hehehe

let me get this straight:
  • you can have subfolders in the root folder
  • the root folder will end up in /opt

what if i wanted parts of my package to be installed elsewhere or is that wrong practice?

thx

Yay! Looking forward to it. Btw, buildme! could use some documentation, does it optify, is folder structure of the deb you're building kept intact...
Sweet idea/prog. THANK YOU

EDIT: guess abuelmagd answered the optifying part, nice

The application packages any folder with a ./DEBIAN directory and a control file properly configured. The other files/folders are of your choice on where to place.

How do you point for MyDocs for data files? symlinks should get copied correctly, would home/user/MyDocs/gameData from the build folder get there or will it end up in /opt/home/user/MyDocs...?

Do you have zenity installed? It should've automatically installed if you did the apt-get -f install...
Try to: apt-get install zenity
