From today I'm working on replace the virtual keyboard with FastSMS, but perhaps this will be a fork of the project

hmz, sended a few sms, and the space is higly sensitive. Keep pressing on the space button gives constently spaces:-)
after sending the sms he goes to the standardapp.
Just letting know :-)
suggestion; if you type the name, lets say you want Paul, you press p, then you get all the names starting with a p. idea?

I think he might be referring to how it goes to conversations after sending the message via fast sms.
Would integration with the built-in contacts be planned for future updates?

I have just uploaded a new version in devel (soon available for download)
I included a subtype of phonebook. When you start to write in recipient field a list of possible choice is displayed. Search are for name, lastname and phone number. Double-click insert the phone number in the field.
I need to know how performance are on N900 where there is a very big phonebook (more than 400 contacts) and if people like this
PS I also removed the problem with space repetitions

I've seen you've been messing arround, thx a lot. Its really better imo now.
I THINK ppl with big phonebooks, if they press the A, then you get everyone/thing with an A.
example:
if you type a you get
Anita, andrea, Angelina(Jolie), An, but you also get an rather annoying name like "realsportcars", because there is also an "a" in.
If you have a 300ppl contact list then you get a lot ppl.
I make myself clear?
(btw for me its fine, not a popular guy so small adressbook.)
Next thing swype?

but I hope this could not be a problem and change the method used now could raise problem about velocity and memory.
About something similar to swype perhaps in a far, far future :P
if I press normally it gives 2 characters, if I hit it lightly, only 1
