Isn't there a way to have both your plugin and the Web shortcut on the homepage ?
On my 770 if the Web shortcut is active it hides IPhome...
(and I like to have it because it has a pic of my kids in it :-)

Yeah, I wanted to do the same: edit /var/lib/install/etc/hildon-home/iphome-home.conf (IIRC, check the README) and change the "y" parameter in that file to 107 (or adjust to your taste).
