I tried to using iptable kernel message with this nat kernel. Therefore I installed sysklogd and removed simple-syslog-deamon.

However klogd is complaining:

kernel: Cannot find map file
kernel: init: klogd main process terminated with status 1

So it seems that the System.map file for the Kernel is missing.

@jackburton/ juiceme any chance that you get such a file when compiling the kernel.
Is in your kernel config "CONFIG_IP_NF_TARGET_LOG" enabled?
I see that in the btlc kernel it is not activated.
Can somebody compile a nat kernel with this module activated please?

Or has somebody in general a clue?

I can take a look for you. It's been awhile since I have been doing maemo stuff, so I need to try to remember where all my bits are.

If it is to much trouble and time consuming, you don't need to do it anyway I need to manage to compile my own kernel. I think you can do more important stuff on a higher level than me.

When I was asking for help I thought maybe someone has set already everything up and only need to make menuconfig and compile for me.

I will download the kernel plus sources and will make my own config.
I will see if I can manage to compile the kernel in scratchbox.
But thank you very much.

Ok it is done my first kernel is compiled.
So in the root of the build is also a system.map.

I enabled in my config (from kernel plus) some netfilter related things which where also activated in the N900 kernel-power to get the same functionality like logging.

CONFIG_IP_NF_TARGET_REJECT=m
CONFIG_IP_NF_TARGET_LOG=m
CONFIG_IP_NF_TARGET_NETMAP=m

Now I will test it thumbs up that it is working.
