You mean you've got it working? Did you run from terminal?

Iktwo there is an app which is very close called QAD Signal by juhapekka

Technically speaking the application just provides an UI to the data which is available from the QML NetworkInfo ( http://doc.qt.nokia.com/qtmobility/qml-networkinfo.html) and the mac address is read using the QNetworkInterface class from Qt 4.7 (http://doc.qt.nokia.com/4.7/qnetworkinterface.html).

QAD Signal uses NetworkInfo which it's not capable of showing the MAC address of WiFi Networks, so, I preferred wireless-tools..

About running from terminal, it's weird, sometimes I run it from the menu and it works just fine.. I'm looking in it..

I'm running from menu and I can get it to display some networks some of the time by changing the position of the auto scan slider but the effect is not predictable. Most times it display nothing then after many attempts it may display once.

What is the time scale slider for? Also it will be great it can display numerical signal strength in dB and type of password protection like WPA, WPA2 or WPS.

Hope you get it sorted out. Please don't give up. I'm also waiting anxiously for this app.

Hi Iktwo, have you give up on your wi-fi scanner? This would be a shame because it's almost working. Anyway I've contacted the Russian programmer who did MeeFastDial and MeeRadioMode and he is willing to give it a shot. Let's hope somebody succeeds because Harmattan is really missing this app.

Giving up? Never.. I just don't know where to go, I'll start a new thread with all the info I have on WiFi for Harmattan, hope everyone see it and someone comes with a solution, I tried everything but I don't find a solution..

Just digging more "this and that"... When i changed line how to start WiFik from "blaah...invake...blaah/wifik" to: "develsh -c /opt/wifik/bin/wifik" from "WiFik-application(or-what-evö).desktop", it worked from tapping "icon" also...

Not sure why...

At least N9 must be connected wlan before WiFik working... And if security is WPA1 or lower, then this brutal solution is working, for me, at least... but not with WPA2... really weird... [I also noticed that with lower security, N9 don't drop connection so easily... (This can be caused by "wind", "stars" and "the cat is on the moon...")]

When not connected to wlan, then N9 automatically drops wlan interface down and "iwlist" does not work ofcourse...

Really. That difference between security and AP:s... "does not compute"...
