Lol! Ihad one of those dreamcast shells. Yeah the gold one especially looks suspect.

Just looked at the housing I bought at:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=260605406532

Definitely not the same quality as Nokia's own, but not too far from it. Perfectly acceptable when it's hard to get your hands on OEM Nokia housing. Nokia should make it easier to get OEM replacement parts.

As my problem is with the battery cover then I can say that the lens cover on the chinese knockoff is more stiff to slide, but feels not weaker than the OEM.

Of course the only real test will be how it will hold up in the end.

But not a bad housing for $14.

I could knit you a little phone sock in maemo.org colours? Don't think that's quite what you were thinking of, though...

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but yesterday came my White full housing for my N900, and I want to show my progress

The warranty was already void. I stepped in and changed it

Well. The quality of the plastics are really good, no sign of spray painted . The inside housing also is strong, the keypad came with the letters a "bit" larger than the original. For the rest I'm really in love again with my N900 now in White Version.

I Forgot to tell that these 2 parts shown in the picture I replaced them with the original ones, which have the metal contacts for the Antenna and GPS respectively. The one that came with the housing were only plastics and when assembled I didn't have Signal!
