The email integration feature is now active in the forum but in "soft launch mode*. This feature will allow you to create new posts, get notified of new posts/replies, as well as post replies to posts that you receive via email.

Activation of this feature is done manually by following these steps:
  1. From your Control Panel->Networking->Group Memberships, join the "Email Subscription" group. This will give you access to subscribe instantly to specific forums you want.

  2. From Control Panel->Private Messages->Edit Forum Subscriptions, select "Instant notification by email" to all the forums you would like to get notifications from of new posts/replies.

  3. Whenever a new post is made on a forum that you have subscribed to, you should receive an email about it with the following format:

  4. In order to post a reply via email, make sure you enter your reply between the space provided.

You have the option of adding more lines use, BBCode to quote or format the text on your reply, or even include attachments. It is important however that you don't change the subject title of the email. Once you send the email, in a few minutes (less than 15 minutes) a reply should get posted to the correct thread.

  5. You can also post new threads/topics via email. If you are subscribed to a particular forum (from Step 2), all you have to do is email the details of your post to the corresponding forum email addresses below:

    Talk
    • General: general(at)talk.maemo.org

Can you try again? I've updated your account but others might have the same problem so I have to do a mass update.

The problem should be fixed now.

Receiving emails should be instant. Posting is scheduled every 15 minutes (minimum cron setting in vbulletin).

This can be done for an specific post/thread?

I would be better for some people to recieve just the reply for an specific post/thread than all new posts/replies for a entire forum.

Greetings.

Unfortunately not. For specific threads, you can always use the "Subscribe to this thread" option on top of the page. You will get instant notification via email when someone replies to that thread.

Is there a way to make the "Daily updates by email" option include the actual text of the new posts in the email (even if without the ability to reply)?
