You're confused...

There is no native Shockwave plugin for Linux/x86 or Linux/ARM.

You're referring to Shockwave Flash. That is the ancient name for what is now known as simply Flash or Adobe Flash.

Explanation here.

Yes, let's just take the cream of it, not the whole thing.

I actually have taken a quick look at it ones. Can't remember what I was looking nor why. But a good example how Flash can bring value to your device - without native programming.

Hi Joshua,
well the easiest way would be to use the webbrowser as framework.
If this sounds like chinese to you, you are exactly at the same
point were i was a few months ago.

Either path you choose for the future, you will have to learn c++
to develop for the maemo plattform.

But hope is there! Nokia has just released the WebRuntime for
Aptana (IDE) - this makes developing for other NOKIA devices
a charm! Within minutes you have your flash directly on the
mobile phone installed as Application. That's something i would
love to see within Maemo.
I use the WRT from Nokia for my www.mojocafe.net project and
it realy rocks.

I too am interested in getting flash content running smoothly on n810 or n900 mainly for the games available online (.swf). I recently discovered that i could download the .swf files and play it on the standalone shockwave player in ubuntu, this cuts out the adds and i can rescale and pause the game inside the standalone player, there is open source players too, gnash and swfdec, athought they are much slower and not fully up to date.

I second the idea for an app that catagorizes the online games and makes them eaisy to play on the tablet. I can understand though why some pple want to shy away from using Flash, but the other alternatives havnt shown IMHO anything near the eye candy and ease of development as flash.

recently i watched a demonstration video on youtube of n900 running full 10.1 flash player and another device they didnt say the name, maybee droid? but when you double clicked the flash content on that device it automatically displayed it as full screen. dont know if the n900 will do that though....

I am on the verge of purchasing the n900 and dropping my G1, but the deciding factor which I can't figure is will the n900 play streaming video- IE if I go to you tube will I be able to watch the streams, or if I go somewhere like rivals.com can I watch recruiting video. If not I will stick to my G!

Yes, absolutely - from the browser, just like a desktop computer. No YouTube app required like the G1.
