If someone is interested to poke, port(currently it's x86 AFAIK) or whatever and haven't heard about it — http://www.shashlik.io/news/2016/02/...buntu-package/

A major refactoring is underway, so wait a while.

For pure (libhybris-less) ports.

Now that Sony announced mainline Linux kernel for Xperia devices it is possible to make pure Sailfish/Nemo/etc. ports to them.

Exactly why I was looking at porting Shashlik. That and I'm hoping to get the yet unannounced Xperia Z6. I want a phone with a multi-level pressure touchscreen panel (for developmental purposes, there's no way I'm getting the Mate S that thing is huge). Although I don't particularly want to wait till September time for the Xperia Z6, there isn't really any phones out that I'm interested in getting, and I'm hoping the Z6 changes that and comes with a force touch like touch panel, and has the design cues of the X performance, LPDDR4 ram and UFS 2.0 storage, and a decent size battery. I would be really p'd off if they reduced the battery size further. The Z2 had the same battery size as the Note 3, and now the X performance has a 2700 mah battery, which is big chunk smaller than the Z5.

Only for Z6 and above or also for previous models? If this mean we'll see a Sailfish port for Z3/Z5 Compact, then I'm excited.

Original Z, Z1-3 I believe is what Sony are supporting at the moment for the mainline kernel. Z3+/Z4 and Z5 aren't yet supported. I think its the whole series so Z1 compact Z2, compact etc. but I'm not sure on that.
