My little girl likes to play with my chargers, and at her age, play=break. Does anyone know where I can get a new plug that I could solder to the old charger wires--like this, but the right 2mm O.D. size?

Most phone shops appear to have 3mm to 2mm adapters in stock.

Get an usb charger from dealextreme (ca-100 knock-off), then put a female usb connector on the original charger cable.

$2.17 shipped but they take a few weeks to deliver.

Get a spare USB cable while you are at it:
I have this one from DealExtreme. The CA-101 for $4.42 shipped. (It says Nokia but I doubt that it is)

Or this for $5.41 shipped.

Or get this multivolt travel charger for $14 shipped
