Hey guys,

I've been having a weird issue with my N900 for quite a long time, i've reflashed multiple times so i think it must be an OS glitch.

When i receive a text with my profile set to "general" and the text alert set to "Message 1", instead of playing Message 1 as the tone i just get a tiny beep, which means i miss tonnes of text messages as i don't hear them come through.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks,

Thanks,
is it the same tone you get when you've left the conversation open? perhaps you've left the conversation open?

there's also a volume slider for sms tones nest to where you'd set the tone.

It is the same tone i get when i leave the message window open.

But i had just rebooted my phone and no apps open at all and received a text message and the only tone i got was that tiny beep.

Is there a way to force my phone to always play the full message tone? Even if a conversation has been left open?

Have you installed some modified pulseaudio package?

There was one circulating some time ago which was supposed to give less audio stuttering but it had several side effects such as wrong or no notification tones when receiving messages/calls.

I haven't installed any pulseaudio packages.

I actually haven't tried this. I will change it now and report back.
