Installing as in? I installed Archlinux as chroot and it runs fine. The problem with Archlinux is mainly that itīs build tools have not been compiled for arm, so as a result of that itīs not very convenient to make things run on the n900, unless you already run a version of Archlinux on another machine and thus are able to compile basic neccessities like a browser and such.

To chroot Archlinux, get the keyboard running, etc, all information is already in this thread.

Installed Fedora using the latest lzma image from qole .

chroot works but every time I try to start the XFCE, it closes on its own without any error or warning message.

What am I missing?? Somebody please help me out!!!

Is the Ubuntu image of the original post definitely lost, with no mirror at all? I tried the ubuntu-m5-v1.img.ext2.lzma file from Qole's website, but ubuntu-N900 fails at mounting it.

Sorry for the Noob Q -

How can we run Gnome desktop on here?

More of a proof of concept than for speed

Gnome - Yep.
Find the right packages and if it will install. Yes.
I've had a few others run.

I finally gave Up with testing those OS. It was a bit slow and I had a few problems concerning the keyboard under Ubuntu.
