I Have put the Ubuntu Touch on my Nexus 7, but it seems VERY clunky. Maybe because it is a preview version, but there really is not a lot you can do on it. Im afraid that the N9 might not be able to run it smoothly enough right now. We will probably have to wait for the complete version.

Btw will ubuntu phone be limited in the same way of the nitdroid project ? (no phone call?)

Well, it seems like the base for Ubuntu Touch is just a fork of CyanogenMod 10.1, which means it might require similar procedures as getting NitDroid on N9(00).
I am not happy with this decision as I think it won't help FOSS in any way, just saying..

To me, it is a disappointment, but I guess it works for Ubuntu as it simplifies porting.

OMG! what a paece of crap if ubuntutouch depends on Android hacks

Totally losts intrests in ubuntutouch. Now Hope Jolla get a chance...

I'm waiting for Sailfish Jolla.
They've taken the "proper" route as it seems, but life's full of surprises.
