Thanks ade.
Yep, seems so

Furthermore my little gem started to give me the 'all telephony disabled' thing and this came up after changing SIM and two unsuccessful boot tries.

Anyone knows a fox without reflash?
Right now I use it as second device, so I do not know about further issues (maybe reflash and restore backup is best?).

The telephony thing sounds like just a contact problem, especially considering it happened after you disturbed the SIM contacts, I would try to carefully spring them up first.

Already did so, but to no avail.
NB: the telephony thing appeared first, out of the blue. BEFORE changing SIM.

Now I put a LOT of paper between SIM and batt. And also between batt and cover. And it looks good.

For the product info thing (no version) I am uncertain to flash. Just finished a full backup, so I am prepared. But I have no clue what is going on...

I lost the product info upon an aggressive purge of packages I deemed unnecessary. Namely osso-applet-device plus language variants. Perhaps you can try reinstalling them?

Nope.
Reinstalled some packages to no avail.
osso-product-info
libossoproductinfo0
osso-applet-device
osso-applet-device-l10n-mr0
osso-applet-device-l10n-dede

Continued here.
