I have gPodder 2.15
I subscribed to Discovery News (Video) on gpodder.net. When I stream video in default medial player, it says Unable to play media. Media format not supported. Whereas if i download...it plays nicely
Any idea of solution?

Hmm that's a problem with the built-in media player. You could try installing the additional codecs support from the Extras repository, but in general, if it doesn't work with streaming, that's not something that gPodder can fix (because it's a bug in the Media Player).

An alternative that you could try is installing MPlayer and using that instead of the built-in Media Player for playing back video podcasts.

Looks like there is some problem with your connection. Could you try some other WiFi access point (e.g. a public one) and/or try to download a different podcast?

thp,

many thanks for coding such a great product.
The great positives are
1. amazingly smooth UI. Things that matter are laid out clearly, and work well.
2. Totally built in (unlike ipod/itunes, I need no laptop for getting my podcasts)
3. Amazing integration with gpodder.net. Therefore I can browse all the interesting feeds on my laptop and add them, while they get synchronized on my n900 later.
4. Finally I am enjoying each of my 30 minutes of my daily commute... The gpodder has brightened up life...

Why I am replying here:
1. I find the "Failed: I/O Error: (104, 'Connection reset by peer') - Name of podcast" as pointed above quite often - and this is due to poor internet connection yes. But is it possible to build in some "retry" functionality in gpodder?

2. My podcast downloads often time out, or stop in between etc. i.e. the podcast download is not as reliable and fast as your other software that you made for Windows. In fact I started to use your windows app, after several times of waking up in the middle of night and re-starting downloads in my N900 gpodder. 50% of downloads in maemo gpodder fail for one reason or another.

Yes, there's already a feature request for this. Feel free to subscribe here:
