Hi, I'm nearly ready to donate, but I have a question. Will this device be powerful enough to allow Ubuntu mobile to be ported? Is this a possibility (even though I realize that it's not an initial priority)?

Well, I don't know Ubuntu mobile and I suppose Nikolaus and Joerg don't know anything more about it too. I think you should ask on some Ubuntu related site, they should know what are the requirements of their software.

On Neo900 side there will be nothing that'll stop you from porting it. However, if it turns out it needs 4 GB RAM just to boot (I made it up of course), then obviously it won't work.

I can corroborate this strangeness...I tried to donate with a perfectly fine mastercard... ...twice it rejected and said there were errors with card inputted info.....but there were NO errors...the info was inputted correctly......After the 2nd failed donation attempt...I found that a little disconcerting....so..I tried another different perfectly ok mastercard.... and it went through on the 1st go. Then I received the confirmation email..so I knew it went through.

I wondered whether there may be a false positive.

Hopefully not too many go through that...and hopefully it doesn't create extra work for you guys...

If slashdot doesn't take the piece or you would like a full page article to farm out my wife is a professional native American English copywriter and formerly a fundraiser for GMOs. She is happy to type up a press release as long as she can have collaboration and review from the someone at the core of the project with decision making power.
We are currently +3 GMT and she can give it proper work tomorrow morning our time.
Just PM me.

Apparently, dual core is a minimum. Everything else seems fine though (I suppose it's a bit too much to ask for you to add an extra core? :P )

As long as Fremantle is supported I guess, but it has made me consider a bit longer before I donate (but not more than a month as I will then lose 2% of my refund)

I've heard of "NGO" (non-governmental organisation), but never heard that term before either.

I guess single core won't be as problematic as lack of multi touch.
