Is this normal? I'm a fresh user of n900. I bought a used n900 and I noticed it after the first glance.
Here are some photos showing what's going on (two more strongly illuminated points):

In real, this is more conspicuous

Absolutely normal. Those points are visible, most notably, in white backgrounds - during normal usage, they're 0 problem (frankly, I completely forget about them)

Anyway, I have yet to see N900 that have been used for few months (of constant runtime) that *doesn't* exhibit those heat points.

This happens when the LCD panel or it's backlight unit is under pressure/malformed.

You can see the same effect if you push your laptop's lcd panel with your finger. Sometimes if you drop the device or some foreign object enters between the back reflector and the lcd panel and damages them such spots can appear.

Some secondhand's have this.. Don't know what the owners did to it but I am sure they were not careful like me
