How does Recaller record phone calls, specifically the "other party" -- i.e. does it simply record whatever your N900 microphone picks up (thus, the louder, the better), or does it get input (of the other party's voice) from the system directly?

Quick reply...
Read file "/usr/lib/hildon-desktop/recaller.py". It seems to me that, when recording a phone call, it combines microphone for your side (and amplifies it), and system for the other party.
Best wishes.
