well, you have to, cause beside DRM there are other keys.

There is another angle to take into account. They may be difficult to get hold on, if you wait too long.

You can still buy many old devices (5+ years) as new for cheap on ebay so I doubt they'll be completely sold out in a few months.

That said I brought mine now because I saw a good deal at a local shop and value local warranty.

yeah=) pity it didn't work out for them=( but they didn't promise anything and didn't start any works
i wonder why they chose Sony over FP2

I think it's a matter of which company agreed rather than Jolla picking one. I don't think Jolla can afford to just pick one.

Because at the time they wanted Fairphone to pay for it, and be a proper sailfish licencee.

This thing with Sony is much different, and Jolla is in a different place financially to be able to support this kind of work.
