step by step:
make sure you are not up-to-date already
Code:
dpkg -l libcurl3*
shows version < 7.25.0-1maemo7
As I have no idea about "faster app manager" here my way:
Use hildon-application-manager (HAM, the 'shipped with')

Activate extras-testing repo, wait for it to update catalogs
Close HAM, wait for apt-worker to stop

Code:
apt-get install libcurl3
Deactivate extras-testing in HAM again.

If you do not know what to do in any of these steps, I am begging you to not do it and wait for it to become available in cssu-stable, pretty please.

As this is becoming more and more attractive to normal users I suggest to close this and beg for waiting for cssu-stable to update?!

While I can upload photos and authenticate now the widget isn't showing any status updates, is there any sort of permission I need to grant to it in FB?

I tend to agree, after all it is better to wait for a month or so than to brick your device.

Hi Naru,

I have tried this command but I'm getting this message instead.

E: Could not open lock file/var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (13 permission denied)

E; Unable to lock the administration directory (var/lib/dpkg/), are you root?

Please help...;-)

I installed "rootsh" and then was able to use the "sudo gainroot" command.
So cool!
See the beautiful weather in Paris on my weather widget. LOL
N900 is fantastic. It's a shame Nokia didn't believe in this :-(
Imagine, as Motorola did with its Droid (Milestone in Europe), we could be at the third or the forth generation today!...
Fortunately there's a great community of N900 enthousiasts!
I had the same problem. Solved mine too.
Thanks! ;-)
