I did red pill, went to app manager, updated and went to update apps, and clicked Operating System Update...

It worked, things are way faster and cooler, and
I am probably oblivious and missing something obvious,

but WOW! What a difference.....

Actually, installing this breaks your system. Whatever you're experiencing is a placebo (or, perhaps, an unrelated change), but this definitely didn't do anything good.

so what part of my OS is supposed to be broken?

Embedded video in a news site is awfully good (youtube)...

Also, the new internet tablet flash intro and spiffed up google contact applets on the homepage are cool-

There isn't even anything in that metapackage to improve browsing and flash performance.
