MaeMeeMo doesnt have any big impact on battery. I'm using KP51 @ 950 mhz + MMM (lockscreen+walls+qbw+theme..etc)+ tons of widgets and contacts and shortcuts+ 3hrs-5hrs wifi + 30mins call + 5 msgs my battery last 24 hours...

p.s Keep your N900 in a cool (preferably 25 degrees Celsius max) and open place away from direct heat and open apps for long.

1- enable portrait wallpaper by :
Code:
gconftool-2 -s /apps/osso/hildon-desktop/portrait_wallpaper -t bool true

(need to reboot after it)

2- clear desktop from any widget

3- install maemeemo from extras-devel

4- from Theme Customizer choose:
- Theme ----> MaeMeeMo
- Font ----> Nokia Pure Text
- Icon theme ----> harmattan-icons-pack-for-white-themes
- Snap-to-grid size ----> 14
- Widget opacity ----> 130
- Menu bar opacity ----> 0

5-Download wallpapers from :

change portrait wallpapers to LeafP1.png and LeafP2.png

6- rearrange widgets on desktops

7- add favorite apps shortcuts and place them on the dockbar

8- download transitions.ini from :

and place it in /usr/share/hildon-desktop/ (take backup from transitions.ini that exist)

9- enable MaeMeeMo 1.4 from QtLockscreen Configuration

Then reboot
everything is correct but you need to select Harmattan-icons-pack and NOT ~for-white-themes (because MMM is a black theme.. )

But there are two things that should be improved.
1. I have no menu button in the top left corner, something only appears, when I click the corner (but it's still task switcher icon, not the menu's)
2. The lockscreen should have MeeGo look & feel, as for me, so: it should show what's behind the lockscreen, as with the MaeMeeMo lockscreen I don't really know whether I'm unlocking or not.

Thanks for your hard work!
Thanks mate,
1. The menu on top left is moved to bottom center in homescreens when any app is NOT opened, when you will open an app the menu button (task-navi-button) on top left WILL appear back to access task-navigation (still the button on homescreen at bottom center can be used to access app-menu), so you have two kinds of button... hope you find it useful now... Its (Task-navi+app-menu button) is not lost but its toggled differently.
2. The QT lockscreen MMM 1.4 theme is made to resemble MMM in general and nemo lockscreen is possible to make but we need some resources to make it.... you can ask @zifis to make one if you really needed that look.
2.1 QtLockscreen app has restrictions to show the homescreen as background while its locked... nevertheless to unlock you need to Press and Hold 70ms to unlock...

@sifo: Please change maemeemo-dependency for Harmattan-icons-pack-for-white-themes to harmattan-icons-pack as Maemeemo-theme is black and needs the said package as dependency.
Thanks

position = hidden

6) progress and animation progress = nothing to change.

7)Edit Command
Delete all command.

Hey Thanks for the instructions and info, I already new that before but using that method we cannot get the black status bar, so again there is a need for a custom wallpaper... but again only one step is needed to create wallpaper to add black status menu and an extra step(s) to add a new widget on all or one homescreen...

So custom wallpaper method is still more useful... anyway thanks again...

Edit: and its only for landscape i believe?

Do you need a .deb of it? but there's no need for it with current style... I thought (only) you wanted that maemo's task-navi+app-menu button back?

Its (that archieve) just for getting that menu button back if you want... or else its (MMM) perfectly fine without it...

I'll be able to do it without a deb, but this may be useful (maybe some other users will want it). If a user want the app menu back, he installs additional package.
