For some reason my n9 did not reboot, it use to stay on the "no warranty" disclaimer page,

dmesg tells:

Code:
[1618424.938265] usb 1-1.3: new high-speed USB device number 126 using ehci-pci
[1618425.037346] usb 1-1.3: New USB device found, idVendor=0421, idProduct=0105
[1618425.037348] usb 1-1.3: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=5
[1618425.037349] usb 1-1.3: Product: N9 (Update mode)
[1618425.037350] usb 1-1.3: Manufacturer: Nokia
[1618425.037351] usb 1-1.3: SerialNumber: 35792??????????
[1618427.555282] usb 1-1.3: USB disconnect, device number 126
[1618442.403645] usb 1-1.4: USB disconnect, device number 19
And

Code:
flasher -i
flasher 3.12.1 (Oct 5 2011) Harmattan

Suitable USB interface (bootloader/phonet) not found, waiting...
Maybe battery is drained, but it does not seem to charge anymore....

So what can i do ?

Edit: the battery slowly charged using a wall charger, I think bottom white led turned on at beginning and then was kept off. Then I flashed OS and got my n9 back to life

Try

flasher -i

If battery is completely dead, you need either

1) new battery

Take out battery and:

2) connect to a wallcharger to connect the battery directly. I bought one from AliExpress which will charge the battery http://s.aliexpress.com/yiaARZVn

3) connect the battery directly to a charger for like a minute, replace in phone, and hopefully it will start charging.

That sounds familiar.

In addition to what neildk said, you can try the charger in and out trick as described here:
