Hi,

When I startup the device I see the Nokia logo for a few seconds and then the phone shuts down

I had installed multiboot to enable NITDroid which worked flawlessly. I then installed power kernel but the power kernel did not start. I tried to add an entry into /etc/multiboot.d for power kernel and since then I have had this problem. When connected from the PC also I notice the same problem, it keeps restarting.

I tried to press and hold U, B, 0 on start up as suggested by some of the threads but nothing happened.

I have also tried to remove the battery, sim, memory card just in case it helps but in vain.

I don't know if I should use the flasher because the phone keeps restarting. Please HELP!

how to do so can be found here wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_tablet_firmware

and its probably because you have nitdroid which uses the MULTIBOOT kernel and then u installed POWER KERNEL which made a mishmash of kernels which screwed up the booting :P

Yes but i am worried if the phone restarts before the flashing completes then it will make it worse right since the phone keeps restarting when connected via USB as well

try to just connect the phone in update mode.
download the flasher and turn it on, then turn off the phone and plug it into usb while holding down U on the phone keyboard.
then type in the command for flashing just the kernel
if it connects, then therell be a really really dark nokia logo on the phone with a usb symbol in the top right. and then itll start flashing
if it doesnt connect then itll say suitable device not found, waiting.

type in "flasher-3.5 -F (firmware image) --flash-only=kernel -f -R"
without the "s.
and u have to put the firmware image into the program files folder of the flasher 3.5

EDIT: also shorten ur firmware image name to something like m.bin so its easier to write
