Yep, javispedro must be dead on because I can't get any of those hacks working including Fonts4OS5. Sorry, Addison, the only program on Garnet that I have smooth fonts on is eReader. Your other possibility is to get an old Tapwave Zodiac off of eBay.for around $40 that will run all of these hacks. It's got a great screen too that's similar in size to the N800.

I thought I would post some screenshots to relieve a little at home boredom.

Bookworm

Astraware Casino

Bowling Deluxe

Tower of Hanoi

Aero Frenzy

Deluxe Texas Hold'Em

Mini-Keyboard

MegaBattle

MegaGammon

Who Wants to be a Millionaire

I might post more tomorrow.

Hey, does anyone have any good Palm websites that offers suggestions and reviews for games and applications?

Most of the sites seem to have gone away.

I used to use these ones.

EDIT: Isn't the screen too small when you use Palm apps like that?

I can go both ways.

That sounded horrible, didn't it?

Anyway, many thanks for the links, Huz.

Here's a really great Sputnik reading site that has downloads you'll have a hard time finding anywhere else on the net.

This is most likely stale news, but Google Maps is really quite nice.

http://www.google.com/gmm/palm_apps/...GoogleMaps.prc

I just caught today that it works great with the default address book in gvm.

I was able to map directions between myself and another contact in 5 seconds, no typing needed.

And when you select copy, you can paste those directions into any gvm and, yes, even Maemo apps as well.

It's also super easy to add contacts through Google Maps when searching for points of interest.

Happy.

Okay. So hopefully I got a renewed interest with a few old school people here, so I have a question.

Would anyone be willing to give an explanation on why these following games don't display correctly on the screen?

Dreamway
http://www.mypalm.ru/soft/software.phtml?id=6289

*Dreamway : ReVision is designed for use on high-resolution color-enabled handhelds running Palm OS 5, including but not limited to PalmOne T|T, T|T2, T|T3, T|C, T|E, T|E2, T|T5, Zire 71, Zire 72, Sony Clie NX60, NX70/70V, NX73V, NX80V, NZ90, TG50, UX40/50, TJ25(27)/35(37), TH55 and Tapwave Zodiac.*

Bowling Master

Billiards

I can only get it to display correctly by pressing the full screen key so the screen is redrawn or by changing apps.

Is it because the games are running at too high of frames per second that the tablet can't keep up?

I'm just wondering.

Here's how I launch gvm.

/usr/bin/gvm/gvm -O none -a lnch -d 8192 -B /home/user/MyDocs/.images/gvm.png -u James

Are there any additions or alterations that might give me better success on this?

I also wonder about CallRec as well.

My sound keeps pooping on me in gvm. Is anyone able to get CallRec or any other recording app to work?

Cheers!

Hey, Addison......

I got them all to work,...but not through the command line. I run them through GarnetVM's regular menu, and configure them with Dynamic heap size = 4 MBytes, Device model = Tungsten T|X, and Display compatibility = Maximum.

BTW, nice find on that Russian site!
