I have a Country Variant Switzerland CH N9. No update available yet.
Does anybody know why some of the non-branded country variants don't have the PR 1.2 yet and others do?

I believe that's the question everybody with a Country Variant is asking and not getting the answer

the Country Variant is an "unbranded" phone with a software for a specific country. I had a look at the 1.1fw both the CV and the vanilla one and found only minor differences, all binaries are the same.

All new FW must be tested by the providers themselves because the phones will be using their networks, so the most logical explanation is that your provider is still testing the FW before giving Nokia the green light to send it to customers. And if you have a Swiss variant you must be aware that the N9 is not on the priority list of the providers.

I didn't know that they also needed to test the unbranded versions.
Actually, I don't know anything about Swiss priorities. I live in the Netherlands, and since the N9 wasn't released here, the shop only had imported Swiss country versions.
So my Dutch provider is definitely not testing anything regarding N9

Nope, the Dutch providers have nothing to do with it. You are waiting for the Swiss to green light the update.

The Swiss market for the N9 must be 0.01% of the amount of N9's sold worldwide. I can fully understand that Nokia take their time to update these but I don't like this way of doing updates. They should wait for the roll out to be sure to cover at least 80% of their users.

You want the latest FW now? Flash it yourself.

I think Nokia in Switzerland newer sold more units of a single device before N9. People from everywhere get it from there because it was cheaper than in other countrys and because it is/was not released in their country.
