When I started the mass-storage mode in Fedora 12 (GNOME), the device mounts successfully but for some reason I can't see the correct icon for Nokia N900 shortcut on desktop. It shows the icon on WinXP.

Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks.

what do you mean by correct icon? do you have udev or hal? you have to play with some rules and set icon config if n900 is connected

Here come a self-solution:

Just open the .n900.ico file in GIMP and save it as png. Modify autorun.inf line as "icon=n900.png"

Now I see a nice N900 icon each time the device is mounted. I can even stretch the icon to make it bigger

There is an file called "autorun.inf" in your N900 file storage.
Open it with you favourite texteditor and edit the lines according to gsever's instructions.
