Put some working SIM in and make a phone call or something. Then remove it and see what will happen.

Nevermind.
I thought I had removed the Sim card, but must have put it back at some point. The error message was correct, and that's why I couldn't get rid of it. Extra thanks to ammuvi and to those of you who tried removing your SIM cards and didn't get the message.
