I've even set SuplForced=true and enabled background connections but still no fix indoor. (both devices)

And I remembered that N9 started to fail first, and N950 later.

/edit: gpsmeefo shows one satellite found (indoor). But the wlan positioning should work then

I tried using the gps outdoor. And I managed to get the fix.

But then getting indoor, the problem comes back. Just as if the WLAN positioning didn't work.

With the N9, i never managed to get a GPS fix indoor

Fortunately, outdoor was never a problem.

Your expectation may be too high. Getting a fix indoors is a bonus, not a right. It depends on how far you are from an external door or window. Even WLAN positioning need some weak GPS signal. It is ASSISTED GPS after all. True WLAN positioning can put you kilometers away so is practically useless.

Well, one satellite is being detected indoors.
And it's the N900 that sets my expectations so high! It ALWAYS gets a fix, even while indoors!

FWIW, of all devices I tested in my living room, the N9 is the only one who never had a fix I tried several Apple products, androids ones (HTC, Samsung, Sony) and Jolla.

N9 gps is unreliable. Visited NYC and used n9 since it has offline maps but the ****ing n9 locked only once on the whole trip. Totally useless. Nokia's maps might be OK but their gps is years behind other brands.

Well, I visited Amsterdam, Paris and London and had no problem getting my N9 to lock without any data assist. Sure, it may take a couple of mins but it never failed me. Even my Android touting companions deferred to my N9 for street navigation due to Nokia's excellent offline maps. Google maps are good but only if you have data. I'm telling my story to show that the N9's GPS isn't as useless as you make it out.
