I bought a tablet with tegra 2, but now that I read about Tegra 3 coming out in August, I wonder if I should return it and wait.

Specs:

Tegra 2

Tegra 2 (T20/AP20H)
Nvidia Tegra 2 Produced Q1 2011
Designed by Nvidia
Common manufacturer(s)

* TSMC

Max. CPU clock rate 1.2 GHz dual-core
Min. feature size 40 nm
Instruction set ARM v7
Cores 2
L1 cache 32 KB instruction + 32 KB data
L2 cache 1 MB

* Processor: Dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 MPCore without NEON instruction sets from ARM, up to 1.5 GHz[12]
* GeForce ULP (Ultra Low Power) GPU (4 pixel shaders + 4 vertex shaders)[13]
* Single-channel Lower Power DDR2/DDR2 (DDR2-667, 166 MHz)
* 1080p H.264 Main Profile/VC-1/MPEG-4 video decode
* 1080p H.264 video encode
* JPEG encode and decode
* Dual-display support
* Camera support (up to 12 megapixels)

Tegra 3:

Tegra (Kal-El) series

* Processor: Quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 MPCore, up to 1.5 GHz
* 12-Core Nvidia GPU with support for 3D stereo (12 unified shaders)
* Ultra Low Power GPU mode
* 40 nm by TSMC
* Video output up to 2560x1600
* NEON instruction sets from ARM
* 1080p H.264 High Profile video decode
* The Kal El chip (cpu + gpu) to be about 5 times faster than Tegra 2[16]
* To be released in the second half of 2011

Nvidia says it's 5 times faster than older model. And it outperforms core2duo. However, there is still nothing about pricing and battery life.

What do you think ?
