I'm surprised no one mentioned wanting the next iteration of webOS. Palm Pre 2 is not great, but the updated OS is very nice and sleek. I imagine that sometime next year they will come out with better phones.

For the short term, I'd like to try one of the new windows phones. It's a different way of doing things, and their basic functionality just work. That's a frustrating aspect on the n900. I can remote login to my computer, but I have problems answering the phone, or setting up reminders in the calendar more than a day ahead of time.

And saying "it is not a phone, it is a mobile computer" is not an answer, it's an excuse.

my next phone is actually getting delivered tomorrow. decided to get a contract with the HTC Desire Z.
dunno whether to keep my N900 to play around with or just sell it and try get about £200 for it.

as much as i love my N900, i'm just bored of waiting for things to pick up.
plus after having it almost a year....i get bored easily anyway.

Just had option to renew this week as my contract was about up and I got a Samsung Galaxy S. today. It is fab and works really well. I tested the browser against the N900 and the Galaxy was about a second quicker. And reading emails is now a joy, reading them in the built in email app.

And there's so many apps available on Android Market it makes OVI look like a joke to be honest. No regrets from me. It does what I need it to do.

Ovi *is* a joke!
Extras-devel is where it's at.

Personally, I'm not upgrading until A, there's something worth upgrding to(say a 5", 1024x600 tablet with 1GB of ram and a dual-core, 1.5ghz chip and a good, open OS to go with it), and my N900 stops meeting my requirements or fails.
More than likely, I'm not going to upgrade for 3 years at least. I might end up having to get a new n900 at -some- point due to frying the hardware(I'm a heavy OC-er), but I don't see anything out there that's as nice.

I am often very tempted to go get a BlackBerry. It's not as modern, but it is so solid! Until my N900 wears out, I'll stick with it and keep an eye on the developments.
