True, the article itself doesn't claim to be a Maemo 5 version. Could any mod edit the name of the thread until confirm?.

Again, it's a Diablo base. Not Maemo as such.

Nokia are a business and have chosen a path of using the OSS community phenomenon to reduce their overheads specifically after sales support and development. Unlike Apple who do the opposite and make a killing from their Applications store.

this keeps showing up again and again on various devices.

my best guess is that someone have taken maemo4 or earlier, excluding any nokia proprietary bits, and then repackaged it like this for the chinese market.

its been going on for years, but none of them are exported as that would make the products targets for nokia lawyers.
