That's what I could not stand on iPhone/iPad in the past, until they introduced tabbed browsing in iOS 5.

I must point out that I just got the phone a few days ago and my only experience so far is with the stock browser (and of course the version number of the OS is 1.1). There are other users on this forum who have installed 3rd party browsers and may have more detailed answers than I can give.
