I have been using skype without issue on the N9 for almost a year and all of a sudden the contacts have disappeared and I can't open up the settings properly from accounts. I have tried removing the account from the N9 and re-adding it without luck. I have also re-flashed the phone. My contacts can see me online. When I try to re-add a contact it says 'checking' in status.
Running PR1.3 for a month without issue before now.
Any suggestions?

run as user in terminal:

Code:
rm -rf /home/user/.accouns
rm -rf /home/user/.qmf
rm -rf /home/user/.activesync
and also as user run the following in terminal:

Code:
gconftool --recursive-unset /system/http_proxy
gconftool --recursive-unset /system/proxy
gconftool --recursive-unset /system/osso

The above commands will delete all your accounts, contacts and internet connections...do a reboot after running the commands then try creating a new account...

I did everything as you said but it deleted only my email messages. Was I supposed to re-boot between the two steps?
Thanks

Hi, I have run these two steps and it only deleted the emails and the wireless connection. It did not remove the IM accounts or facebook, etc. I ran both steps and rebooted between both. Did I miss something? Thanks

Well the above should remove your IM accounts etc. If they have not been removed, its quite possible you didn't do it correctly. Could you post the output from terminal for the whole process stated above...

The thing is I have now pulled out my N900 and found that has also lost all the Skype contacts. Surely the issue can't be both devices? I see others have had this problem on both devices so something must be wrong somewhere. There was a Skype update sometime around the time the issue first arose.

The stupid thing is Skype does work, it's just the contacts are all missing. I can re-add the contacts on the phone, but it just says "checking". I can receive calls and IM from Skype contacts - they see me online, but I can't see them.
