Oh, and the announcement of a new "minor" variant (N801 or what have you) IS great news. It means Nokia is still in the tablet business. Every new variant solidifies that.

Don't dwell on fatalistic visions. Nokia has no desire to alienate most owners or future purchasers. You can't please everyone, of course, but the goal remains to please as many as possible going forward. Broad application of firmware would be a key factor, no?
