I've installed it using the second guide you posted (the official one from Rapid7) and worked fine for me. Although startup time is a few minutes. That msf.tar is pretty old I think; just get the latest from the metasploit svn

done that got all newist versions an now im faced with this issue ,

i have tryed so many different things an now im faced with a new error need some help with this ...
/home/user/metasploit-n900/lib/rex/text.rb:1:in `require': no such file to load -- digest/md5 (LoadError) from /home/user/metasploit-n900/lib/rex/text.rb:1 from /home/user/metasploit-n900/lib/rex.rb:44:in `require' from /home/user/metasploit-n900/lib/rex.rb:44 from /home/user/metasploit-n900/msfconsole:15:in `require' from /home/user/metasploit-n900/msfconsole:15i installed rubygems from source and the msf.tar file from knownokia , which i bleave qas wrote buy somebody from this forum ...
